Sell Block B!
Sell Block B from rapido1 on Vimeo
In this scenario I used Powerpoint to make some slides, and created a .mov digital video presentation using Camtasia to seek prospective buyers for Block B...which is'nt really for sale....;)
The .mov file was compressed, uploaded to vimeo.com and embedded to this blog. Care was taken to avoid inclusion of any number plates, faces or identifiable features.
Chichester Dam
I took this photo the day before yesterday at Chichester Dam in the Barrington Tops. I drove back one day earlier than planned, by myself from 'Yeranda' last night to be at Tafe today. I can still see the white lines zipping by... I'm glad I did, because today many of the little towns I drove through are under 1 or 2 meters of water after extreme storms...

Tribalism/Sectarianism
These are the accompanying images from a presentation I gave recently about tribalism, and some of it's manifestations in contemporary art. The presentation without accompanying dialogue is just a collection of images. Most of the aggressive northern Ireland images come from Loyalist, pro-British sectarian groups. The latter half of the presentation focused on how far extreme tribalism/sectarianism can go.

Speed trap.
I exceeded my throughput limit. My high speed broadband has been stopped in it's tracks. Before that happens I'm supposed to get a notice from my ISP - however I didn't get any notice. I spent half the morning waiting to talk to them about how they accidentally deactivated my primary email, then the rest of the day trying to figure out why the system was going so slow. After reconfiguring my network several times, changing all passwords, removing a few gigabytes of excess data - I found out I had exceed my limit. I've tried to check it several times over the last few weeks, but they've been working on their website and it doesn't actually function anymore. Thanks alot - 'Just say the word!'..... Only one word coming to mind and I know it's not what they intended. They play those horrible jingles repeatedly telling you how great they are... So you struggle with the urge to smash your phone... potentially exacerbating any communication problems you already had, before seeking 'assistance'.
As much as I'd like to be adding to my blog - I think I'll try to avoid the internet almost completely until they give me back my speed.

Rapido Video Tutorial 1
Rapvidtut1 from rapido1 on Vimeo
I prepared this tutorial last week and lost most of the segments when there was some problem removing my flash drive from the computer. I had quite an in-depth and nicely formatted presentation, but I lost it. This exercise needed to be completed by a deadline so here is a scaled back version. It's not great, but it's a quick example of the potiental of videocasting as a training tool.
For this exercise I prepared a title and conclusion page in MS Powerpoint, and then used 'Camtasia' software to make a videocast of the active window while I adjusted the Layers in Photoshop. I put down an audio track afterwards to talk the viewer through what's happening on the screen. I uploaded the resultant .mov file to vimeo.com and embedded to this blog.

Photoshop Tutorial
In this exercise I created an audio tutorial, which is also available as a Podcast along with another from Zorrow. The Podcast player is located further up this page on the right. I produced this audio in Garageband, and exported the large .bnd file to iTunes where I converted it to Mpeg and uploaded it to the host site Divshare.com Then I embedded it to this blog from Divshare.

2 Tonnes
I shoveled and hauled 2 tonnes of dirt today , starting at about 8am and going through until about 1.30pm - I was in a hurry so I could do some revision. I felt knackered all day, and I'm here looking at the computer at 9.10pm
I found three black widow spiders and photographed one of them walking along the ground - to be uploaded tomorrow.....
I spent quite a while trying to get odeo.com to work with no success, but I do have some podcasts ready to go. I think it's something to do with Mac Vs PC.
Remeber to look here tomorrow....

This is another version of the exercise below and it utilises the same idea map template. This scenario is in an FM radio style and was created using 3 tracks layered on each other. I produced this audio in Garageband, and exported the large .bnd file to iTunes, where I converted it to Mpeg and uploaded it to the host site Divshare.com Then I embedded it to this blog from Divshare.

ConceptSkills7
The sound file above has been derived from the template idea map below. The concept is underpinned by humour - one of the best ways to get an audiences attention. The theme is of mock horror....Aaagh!! I produced this audio in Garageband, and exported the large .bnd file to iTunes, where I converted it to Mpeg and uploaded it to the host site Divshare.com. Then I embedded it to this blog from Divshare. The idea map below was created at bubbl.us and also uploaded to divshare and embedded to this blog.
Construction banner Ad

In creating this banner ad, I tried to stick to the ideals set out in the idea mapping exercise below. Unlike most of the class, I used the idea map to identify ideals and qualities that the client wanted to portray in their ad, and that they want associated with the identity of their company - as opposed to actual design layout. I used this method to ensure brand consistency. In the interview, I asked if the client was happy generally with development of their entire online branding, inclusive of banner ads and asked them to endorse continued development. I created the banner in Photoshop and uploaded it straight into this post. The audio was edited in Audacity and uplaoded to Divshare.com, from where I embeded it to this blog. Please leave a comment.

Tafe Ad2

Tafe Ad1(Below) is designed to appeal to a wide demographic, to students of varying age considering further education, but also to industry management and recruiters. Tafe ad2(Above) is geared toward industry management and recruiters, but also toward career concsious students. Both ads are simple concepts, have used minimal resources and have been produced in a short time-frame, all of which mean low cost. They are effective, while not being restricted to a narrow demographic, so either, or both can be used for the dual purposes set down in the original brief - further enhancing cost-effectiveness. Both ads are eye catching and well suited to all forms of media including digital, billboards, public transport, print and can be easily modified for TV and even radio with the use of sound effects. The concepts can be easily fleshed out to create a series of complimentary ads as part of a comprehensive campaign.Hear me read the Blurb HERE
